Answers:

What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an identity verification method in which a user must supply at least 2 pieces of evidence, such as their password and a temporary/one-time passcode, to prove their identity. The one-time passcode will be emailed to your email address on file or texted to any phone number on file.

When will Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) be launched?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will go live on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Why are you implementing MFA?

MFA gives you greater protection against bad actors who might try to access financial information. This feature adds an additional security layer to the log in process.

What can I do now to make sure my transition to MFA will be smooth?

You should log into Online Banking and make sure we have a valid email address and correct phone numbers on file for you. You would click on your name, “Personal Info & Settings” and select “Personal Information” from there. Follow detailed instructions here.

How do I check/update my contact information?

Please see link below for detailed instructions https://www.greatermetrofcu.org/pi_update/

Will I have to enter one-time password each time I log in?

You will have an option to “register your device” for 60 days.  MFA will not require again until 60 days pass (as long as you are using same device/browser)

I use the “jump” feature (to access a second membership without entering credentials). Will I need to use MFA during this jump?

No, during the jump process, MFA is not required.

What is your strong/complex password requirement?

Passwords must be at least 8 characters long and include a combination of three of the following: lowercase letter, uppercase letter, number, and special character.

Do I still need to remember answers to my Security Questions?

Yes, Security Question answers are also used for the “forgot password” feature that allows you to reset your password without needing to call the credit union. Because of this, It’s Me 247 continues to require the entry of the security question each time you log into online banking to ensure that these answers are kept top of mind.

What should I be expecting to see when I log into online banking for first time after MFA goes live?

Once the feature is activated, you will be presented with two MFA screens upon logging into online banking.

The first page allows you to register your device and to select an email or cell phone for the one-time passcode.

The second page prompts you to enter the one-time verification code
